Salto de Jimenoa
The waterfall, Salto de Jimenoa, is located a few kilometers outside Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic. There is a parking lot at the entrance, and from the parking lot you must take a 10-15 minute walk to reach the fall. Most of the walk is along the river getting to the waterfall, it is possible to take a swim in the second pool after the fall – it’s prohibited to swim in the first pool. At the fall, there is a very small track or path going up – its nearly hidden – and from the top you can have a small glance of the fall from above. It's not officially part of the track system, and a difficult trail but great for picture taking. Remember to bring you own food and drinks (water if it’s a hot day).

This waterfall is high in the mountains of Manabao on private property. Found while on one of our Gold Panning Adventures, it is a 1 1/2 hour hike from the main road. Absolutely one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the country, not a typical tourist destination, but well worth the hike. We recommend pairing this adventure with a Gold Panning excursion as you are in Gold country when you reach this waterfall.
